As you may already know, the Outer Banks gets millions of tourists and international students each and year during the spring and summer months. It’s probably one of the coolest places that you will vacation that’s not overly developed. This is what makes it my favorite place.
Closest Airport to Outer Banks NC
You should know that there are no major airports in the Outer Banks. The closest airport to Outer Banks NC is the Norfolk International Airport in Virginia. The Norfolk airport is situated about an hour and half from the Outer Banks. However, going west there is another one located in Raleigh which is about 3 1/2 hours away. The Norfolk International Airport is probably your best bet if you are traveling from the beach.
Once you arrive to ORF, you can do one of two things: rent a car there, or call a cab or personal shuttle service to take you to the Outer Banks.
If you are an international student and will be working in the Outer Banks for the summer, then it’s be best to use a shuttle service or have someone to pick you up at the Norfolk airport.
Keep in mind that during the summer months there is a lot of traffic flocking to the Outer Banks. And even more so with the new Outer Banks water park opening on June 21st! I think this will be one of many top spots to visit when you plan your next family vacation to the Outer Banks.

When it comes to doing surveys and giving customer feedback, I think many may forget or not even take the time out to do them. However, this time around I decided to complete a Delta Customer Satisfaction Survey.
Why? I think it’s extremely important that when people do a great job, they should know it and get kudos:) With today’s jobs in customer service, it’s so uncommon to receive commendation when a rep does good. We often hear and see reviews & feedback online about how bad, or how wrong things went when most travel to places, right? However, how often and important is to take just a few seconds to complete a survey? I got a chance to do a Delta Customer Satisfaction Survey today through a link I got in my email.
I went to Texas for the 1st time the end of July to see my brother get married in San Antonio. I decided to fly Delta not only because it was the cheapest flight I could find using Hotwire, but also because I love their airlines from past trips.
Flight attendants, just like anyone else in customer service may have their bad days, but I must say that Delta flight attendants were awesome. They waited on us hand and foot and were very courteous from the time we boarded plane to the time we left. I didn’t have to pay extra for my travel bags. I had a moderate suit case and a backpack that easily fit inside their cabin spaces. This saved me $50 on my trip.
When I arrived to San Antonio, I remembered that I forgot to key in my SkyMiles to get credit for my trip and the flight attendant just took my last name and flight confirmation number and did it for me! She did all of this considering she was super busy with other tasks to do. I could have waited until I arrived home to do it myself because Delta airlines gives you 30 days to add the miles to your account. However, the Delta airlines flight attendant did it for me. That’s good customer service.
If you fly Delta airlines, be sure to take out a quick minute if your time to complete their Delta customer satisfaction survey that they send via email. As you can see, this was not a long drawn out Delta Airlines review. However, I thought I would give a quick shout out to Delta airlines to let them how much I enjoyed flying with them and I will definitely fly Delta next trip!
