As you can see in many of web hosting reviews on this blog and also banners, you will notice that I recommend Bluehost as a preferred web hosting provider. This is because I am not only a Bluehost affiliate, but also a Bluehost web hosting user.

How Does Bluehost Domain Privacy Work?
Where I Buy Domains For Websites
But when it comes to buying domains, the secret is that I buy them all FIRST through Godaddy. Why? Well, in short they are way cheaper to buy there. This principle in my opinion applies to just about ANY web hosting. From there you can log in to Godaddy account and then point the name servers to Bluehost.
Now after buying your desired domain from Godaddy, then it’s time to set up your hosting account with Bluehost with this very domain. So to do this you will first select your preferred hosting package. A good one to go with is the Bluehost basic web hosting plan which is great for most beginners that just need to host 1 domain.
Once you plugin in your new domain that you just purchased at Godaddy under “I have a domain name“, then click the “next” key.
Is Bluehost Domain Privacy Protection Worth It Or Not?
No, and here is why. Godaddy Domain Privacy will only cost you $7.99/year whereas the Bluehost Domain Privacy Protection is $0.99/month ($12 /year).
This means that you are paying $4 dollars MORE PER YEAR for the same service! Do you see now why I said in the beginning that it is not worth buying it? Do you understand now why I prefer to buy all of domains FIRST on Godaddy with the $7.99/yr domain privacy, then point name servers towards to the host? Yes this is an EXTRA STEP, but it will save you a few bucks by doing it this way.
You will find that Bluehost is a great web hosting provider for all of your hosting needs. They do have a lot of upsells that are 100% optional, and no doubt Domain Privacy Protection is among them. But you can select the add-ons that you feel are best for you. Many of the optional features can installed using WordPress Plugins.
As you can see with this video above, having Domain Privacy Protection for your domain is extremely important to protect your information online. However, why pay more for this feature if you don’t have to?
