Do I Need Bluehost Domain Privacy Protection?

Where To Buy Domains For Websites

But when it comes to buying domains, the secret is that I used to buy all of them FIRST through Godaddy. But recently, I stopped! Why? Well, in short because domains are becoming crazy expensive to purchase at Godaddy. The prices at Godaddy just keep going up and up and up every year. This is why I started looking for Godaddy alternatives.

Something that I learned also about buying domains is that some web hosting such as Bluehost actually give you a FREE domain when you create your websites with them. So is Bluehost domain privacy protection worth it? You bet if you can get it free!

When you compare prices for most .com domains at Godaddy, this would represent a $15-$20 discount and savings a year at Bluehost! It may not sound like a lot of money, but as a beginner online you could put this money back into your pocket to spend on something else you need. Hey maybe you can treat your to some really nice Starbucks drinks or dinner?

Also you can get a 60% OFF Special Discount on their web hosting when you get started today!

You can also get a FREE Bluehost domain now by using this search bar below. It’s really easy to do. Just think about the name of your brand that you would like to reserve online. In my case, my website is learnanet.com. You can type in your Bluehost domain right below and see if it’s available now.

Now after searching for your desired domain at Bluehost, then it’s time to set up your Bluehost web hosting account to then start creating your website online.

To do this you will first select your preferred hosting package. A good one to go with is the Bluehost basic web hosting plan which is great for most beginners that just need to host 1 domain. However, if you want to create multiple websites or have unlimited web hosting & resources online, the Plus hosting and Pro are the best plans for you.

When it comes to picking ideal domain names for to represent your brand, I recommend shooting first for a .com, .net or .org extension. There are well over 400 extensions so I’m sure that you will find something that you fits you. Anyway, your website domain name will be FREE of charge.

Is Bluehost Domain Privacy Protection Worth It Or Not?

is bluehost domain privacy protection worth it

Once you arrive to checkout, you will see some optional add-ons to check including one for domain privacy. as pictured above.

You may be asking yourself…is Bluehost domain privacy protection worth it or not? Yes!! And here is why.

Godaddy domain privacy protection is a whopping $9.99/year for each domain that you purchase. Ouch!

Bluehost Domain Privacy Protection is only $0.99/month IF you are using the Basic hosting plan to create just 1 website. However, you will get it for FREE if you get the Plus hosting plan. I currently use the Plus hosting with Bluehost being that it allows me to add multiple domains in cpanel under my account. This not only lets you create unlimited websites online for affiliate marketing, but again gives me Bluehost free domain privacy protection also.

Although domain privacy is 100% optional, I highly recommend it and see it as a MUST HAVE feature for EVERY domain in my opinion. Why?

Domain privacy as mentioned in the video above guys privatizes your personal info on the public domain. This prevents spammers, sales people, and hackers from getting your info. I have purchased over 30 domains to date.

Why do I I think Bluehost domain privacy protection is worth it?

I can tell you that whenever I didn’t have domain privacy protection on them, my phone FLOODED with tons of unsolicited sales calls. I also got TONS of spam related emails EVERYDAY from “so-called SEO experts and web designers that wanted to sell me their services. Many of these spam-related emails, if not all never have phone numbers or contact info and often originate from outside of the US. However, when I started adding domain privacy protection to my domains, I stopped having this problem all together.

This aspect of your business is really important. Why? Because you can’t waste a lot of your time moderating or eliminating spam-related emails and comments in your inbox or website. Can you imagine all of hours and time you would need to invest to do this? Imagine if you had a website like mine with over 100 posts? I frankly don’t have time for that and you don’t either!

So as a blogger, I understand first-hand and recommend that you buy the Bluehost domain privacy protection for ALL of your domains IF you truly value privacy. If you don’t value or care about your own privacy, then simply uncheck this option. Again it’s only 0.99 cents per month IF you are using the Basic web hosting plan, but you will get it FREE with the Plus hosting plan here.

I think that you will thank me and yourself later for the headache that you avoided by listening to my advise today.

  1. That really helps me. But how do I do that? I bought a domain from Go daddy 2 months ago. I will be using Bluehost.

    1. Thanks for your comment Ms. Divine. If you already have a Godaddy domain, great! You can point name servers to Bluehost easily.

First, login to your Godaddy account and click on “My Products”, then scroll down to the domain you want and click on “DNS” that is right next to your domain.

Next, scroll down to “Nameservers” and click “Change”

Then, add custom nameservers: ns1.bluehost.com, ns2.bluehost.com and the click “SAVE” and you are finished:)

Final step is if you haven’t done so already get your web hosting here. I recommend signing up for the Basic plan if you are just wanting to host 1 website Ms. Divine.

You will then choose the option “I have a domain name/I want to signup with my existing domain” and enter your [Godaddydomain.com] and then process to checkout.
I hope this helps and answers your question!
