What to Expect in This JustAnswer Expert Review:

In this JustAnswer Expert review I will tell you about the company JustAnswer Expert, how it works, customer feedback, and finally what I really think about them based on my research. You will hear the good, the bad and the ugly about this answering service. Also, you will learn is JustAnswer legitimate or not.

What is JustAnswer Expert Anyway?

According to WikipediaJustAnswer AKA Pearl.com is an online expert question and answer website that connects visitors with over 11,990 verified experts in several categories including medical, legal, tax experts, automotive, veterinary, electricians, plumbers, tech support, network issues, software & technology and more.

On their official website you will see a list of experts, how many questions they have answered, and also how users have rated them. This rating system is supposed to give users an idea of how good or not an expert really is in their field. The experts have profiles that detail their studies, degrees or areas of expertise and what of type of questions they answer. All of this helps users to find the best expert to answer their questions.

According to my research, the company has been in business since 2003. Since then, they have gained a lot of traction online with the public and have really made a name for themselves.

If you are new to JustAnswer, popular brands online like CNN, ABC, NBC, Good Morning AmericaThe Huffington Post have mentioned them. You can even find them on Youtube where they discuss the many benefits of their question and answer service.

JustAnswer Expert is a basically a 24/7 operation where people from all over the world can ask questions on just about anything under the sun and get answers quick. What’s the main concept behind JustAnswer Expert? According to their website, it seems that the main concept or idea is really to shorten or eliminate personal visits to these professionals in person which ultimately saves you time and money. This idea at first is what appeals to many to want to try it out.

Why did you want to try this answering service out? Let me know below.

How I Heard About JustAnswer Expert

Recently, an older woman that I know told me about a $5 & $52 charge from JustAnswer on bank statement that she didn’t recognize. She asked me to research it and I did for her. This JustAnswer Expert Review is the gist of what I shared with her. There was a phone number 800-509-5721 that we called to contact the company direct. There were additional contact numbers on their website for customer service.

The company refunded her both amounts in 24 hours which was good for her!

Has this been your experience or something totally different with these guys? I am guessing that if you are reading this JustAnswer Expert review, then you may have similar concerns or issues with this company JustAnswer Expert. Perhaps you have also been charged by these guys and wondering why? Keep reading this review to see what else I found out regarding this company.

What Does It Costs To Use JustAnswer?

To be honest, there is no definite answer to this question that I could find. The honest answer per my research on their official website www.justanswer.com is that it will depend on the question and the type of expert in which field your answer stems.

My friend cited above asked a question and was charged first $5, then $52. Your case may be different. But again there are no definite straight-forwarded or clear answers found on their website about the exact costs for their memberships.

However, there is something that I did see on their website in my research. They do state that it initially costs $5 when submitting credit/debit card info to ask a question during your first 7 day Justanswer trial period. If you do not cancel during this 7 day trial period, you will automatically be enrolled into the monthly Justanswer membership and charged. If it is not canceled within that time frame, then it is assumed that you want to continue using their service.

I don’t personally like this idea at all and feel that it is very deceptive because a consumer doesn’t really know beforehand what exactly he or she will be charged for a membership should they decide to continue. This is something that should be explained more and clearly disclosed to a consumer FIRST before submitting payment info.

I think that when it comes to using any service online or offline, people just want to know what exactly they are getting before making decisions.

According to their website, JustAnswer promises that you can communicate back and forth until you get the answer you need and are satisfied. The cost according to their website is a mere small fraction of what you would pay versus going face to face to visit a professional. This is what makes the service quite attractive to the masses being it gives them an opportunity to save money. What do you think? Let me know below in the comments area.

Should you use JustAnswer Expert or Not to Answer Questions?

The purpose of this JustAnswer Expert review is not to tell you what to decide. This is a personal decision that only YOU can decide.

Some have used their service and love it while others do not like at all. However, I personally do NOT recommend using this service.

Being that we live in an era of BEWARE, I decided to do some extra research online to find out more about Just Answer Expert at www.justanswer.com.

Hopefully, the info below will help you in your decision if you are just curious of using the answering service. I decided to check out a few websites that I normally visit BEFORE trying any service that I am unfamiliar with. I recommend that you do the same going forward when considering products or services that come recommended by friends, family or ads online.

Justanswer BBB

I stopped by the Better Business Bureau site to see what they thought about the company and to my surprise I saw this report.

The report shows an A+ rating on the JustAnswer BBB profile. You will also notice that on the BBB report that there are complaints regarding billing issues by some customers. When you look at the responses provided by Justanswer, it appears that they have resolved customer issues and the customers were satisfied thereafter.

TrustPilot

When you search online, you will see other respected websites like TrustPilot.com who give JustAnswer a 4.2 star rating based on their 34,760 Justanswer Expert reviews from customers.

According to the ratings, it seems that:

  • 83% of clients that have used their services say it is Excellent.
  • 7% of their clients say that the service is Great.
  • <1% rated them as Average/Poor whereas..
  • 8% said it was Bad.

Overall, when you look at many of the JustAnswer reviews that were left on their Trustpilot, they are positive. However, something that you should consider is that many people their complain about doing a 7-day trial for $1.00, then later were charged different monthly amounts. Some figures that I saw on the website were $46, $51, and $68.

Another experience of a past user said that they were charged $5 for the trial and $44 was debited from their account. So what I noticed basically people complained about varied amounts.

But again, at the end of the day it will be completely your decision to use the JustAnswer Expert service or not. On Trustpilot website, you will also see tons of positive comments by users. However, you will come across some negative feedback by past users who have had trouble canceling their Justanswer membership and call it a SCAM.

Consumer Affairs

Also, when you look at ConsumerAfffairs you will see that have a 4.6 rating out of 5 based on Justanswer reviews by users. Many of the comments there from people show that they seem to like the answering service.

What I am getting at this JustAnswer Expert review is that when you start digging you will see that there are mixed comments by users online. But again only you can decide if it’s for you or not.

I personally would NOT use them nor recommend it.

JustAnswer Expert Review Conclusion…Final Verdict?

In my opinion, there are several things that you MUST consider that are extremely important BEFORE using a service like JustAnswer Expert.

Is JustAnswer legitimate? YES, but there is something that you should think about first BEFORE using them.

Although they seem to have good reputations with the BBB & Trustpilot and other outlets, you will also find lots of negative comments and complaints online by past users. You probably have some concerns of your own. This is why you googled today searching for more info on these guys and got this JustAnswer Expert review.

What have I learned over the years? No matter how big or small a company is you will ALWAYS find complaints or someone who doesn’t like the service or product offered online. JustAnswer is not the exception.

The process that they use to charge members for their Justanswer membership is not to clear at all and thus has generated many complaints. Their billing process is deceptive and should inform consumers exactly what they will be charged, but they don’t.

Remember what we have discussed today in this review! If you do, then you might save yourself some money and frustration. Today you just got my 2 cents on these guys.

Again, I do NOT recommend using this company at all based on what I have found.

I think that sometimes it is just best to pay more money upfront for a service so you can speak face to face with a professional. This way you will know exactly what you are getting into and there will be no surprises.

Sometimes you can see a service online that makes it sound cheap. It might appear to be the best way to go. However, some realize that they come out paying more money in the long run. [Not all cases]

Many of the complaints and comments that I have seen online reflect this very point. I don’t like surprises and I’m sure you don’t either. This is probably why you are here. You are either curious & want more information about them before using their answering service. Or you are here because you have already used their service and are not happy.

On any note, if you have any personal concerns or complaints, you should contact the company JustAnswer Expert directly on their official page here.

The monthly membership comes as a complete surprise for most and also customers have noticed additional unauthorized charges on bank account statements. They scammed me too. Sneaky SOBs signed me up for a membership when I just wanted to ask one question. I got a good answer, but it wasn’t worth $39.00 plus a $34.00 membership fee. I’ll be more careful in the future thats for sure.

      1. Hello Richard,

We’re very sorry for any inconvenience. It looks like you were surprised in regard to the monthly membership payment. We apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding. When you visited our site and began the process of posting your question, you were met with several messages from us explaining how you are signing up for a Trial Membership to run for 7 days, starting from when you post your first question. If the trial period was not canceled within that 7-day window, your account would transition into a full membership, where we would collect a monthly payment from you each month until you decide to cancel the service. This was all readily displayed for you when you were submitting your billing information before your first question was posted. We also send a Subscription Reminder email before your first billing date to announce that your trial period is coming to an end and that your first membership payment is coming up.

        1. Cancelled my account over 6 weeks ago and they are still taking money from my account. My bank has been informed.

          1. I want to cancel my just answer employment law account now. June 16 2020. Judy King

          2. Ms.King, to cancel your Justanswer account, you should contact Justanswer’s customer support directly on their official page.

      2. They got me the same way! I thought I was paying a one time fee – and they couldn’t answer my question! Over $160 in charges to my card before I caught it!

    2. Totally scammed me too. I “signed up” and cancelled the membership the on the same day (or the next, but definitely way less than 7 days). Opened up my credit card this morning to see that they are trying to charge my credit card for $29 fee. I had even received confirmation of my cancellation!

I would advise NOT using this company as they charge you even after you cancel their service and then will not take calls from you.

    3. This has to be one of the biggest scams ever encountered. First you have to enter credit card details for a $5 fee or they are not going to respond. Then when I entered my query my account was accessed for a fee of $57. I responded that I had not given permission for this and I wished to cancel my request. They did not provide any assistance and although I immediately cancelled the “membership” I have not received any refund at all and they did not even attempt to provide a service. All avenues of complaint or redress end up back at their sit.

    4. Yes, I too was scammed.
Don’t know how justanswer procured my credit card details. How does this site get away without prosecution. Don’t you have fair trading laws in California or San Fransisco.
It’s not just the cost of the money stolen, it’s the inconvenience of having to shut down my compromised a/cs and set them up again.
If I have any more trouble with this person, I will have to catch a plane over there and deliver my complain in person or send someone on my behalf.

    5. CYNTHIA I READ YOUR COMPLAINT AND I BELIEVE THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME MISTAKE FROM EITHER PARTIES. WHEN I REALISED IT AFTER 7 MONTHS WHILE MY ACCOUNT HAD BEEN CHARGED, I SENT THEM AN EMAIL WITH MY COMPLAINT AND INDEED CYNTHIA THEY REFUNDED EVERY PENNY OF WHAT I HAD BEEN CHARGED.
AS REGARDS TO THEIR SERVICE NO COMPLAINT. IN TWO OPPORTUNITIES I USED THEIR SERVICE AND I WAS COMPLETELY SATISFIED. WHAT I WANT TO SAY IS THAT WE MUST READ EVERYPOINT AND LETTER OF THE CONTRACT AND ALSO BEAR IN MIND THAT AFTER YOUR FIRST QUESTION AND AN ANSWER WAS GIVEN COMPLETELY YOU MUST DECIDE WHETHER YOU WANTED TO CONTINUE AS A MEMBER OR JUST FINISH UNTIL THE NEXT TIME YOU NEEDED AN ANSWER. THIS POLICY IS NOT ONLY APPLIED BY JUST ANSWER, ALMOST EVERYBODY USES IT AND UNLESS YOU NOTIFY THEM THE PAYMENTS WILL CONTINUE CHARGED MONTHLY. GOOD LUCK CYNTHIA AND I BELIEVE IF YOU CONTINUE PRESENTING YOUR ARGUMENTS PROPERLY, YES, THEY WILL REPLY TO YOU POSITIVELY AND SATISFY YOUR CLAIM. THEY ARE REAL PEOPLE AND QUITE GOOD IN ALL ASPECTS AND ESPECIALLY GIVING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO SOLVE OUR PROBLEM.

    6. I put my card information and before could even read the terms of service they had taken a 5 fee and a 39.00 almost simultaneously. Then I noticed on my bank statement that the 39.00 is still pending but I can’t find the original charge which I know they charged me because the money was gone from account in like than 3 minutes. I tried to contact customer care and of course they dumped my concerns. SCAM big time very dishonest.

  1. They mention psychiatrists, but it’s always a psychologist. I needed a psychiatrist, like their ad! Asked questions, asked more, sent me to a page to give card information, etc. Wouldn’t answer anymore of my questions. Pay and talk. Just go to a real doctor! Useless. Or Google your question. Probably better answer, more informative. For suckers! Stay away! Unless you’re rich and like paying for what you could do yourself quicker. Wasted 30 minutes!

  2. I asked a tax ? And w
As given helpful knowledge that would have taken months of research on the IRS web site. In less than ten minutes. Don’t know if they have a monthly fee that will be added after my free trial period. I’ll see how much it is then I guess.

  3. They are a scam. They surreptitiously sign you up monthly when you only have one question. They do this by confusing the customer with a web site that is designed to get you signed up monthly. Why would anyone with a single question want a monthly sign up? They rip you off. Beware these are sneaky dishonest people.

    1. They did the same thing to me. I did not realize it was a recurring payment charge. When I saw the second billing I called. They then allowed me to cancel but would not refund my second $28.00. So they get $56.00 for an answer that was several days late. A reputable business would not take monies that they did not earn.

      1. They have taken off me one hundred and twenty pounds even though I have cancelled they seem to ignore requests for the money to be refunded.

        2. I had the same problem and the ‘online chat’ was useless. In the mean time, I have had a $56USD charge taken off visa. I can’t even get back onto the chat to discuss. The advisor tried to put me through to an immigration lawyer. They have NO IDEA. SCAM

          1. I have spent time talking to three customer service agents and writing an email and have now been refunded the amount

    2. This is exactly what happened to me.
I asked two questions a few weeks apart and neither question was solved adequately and now I notice my credit card is being billed $41 monthly for ‘MEMBERSHIP’ which I never signed up for!!!!!
This is totally dishonest. How do I stop this and recover my money???

        1. You people are doing the same thing to me. I asked 1 question and only signed up for a trial. You people have very questionable business practices and I will be putting in a complaint with the BBB. I have already disputed your charges with my bank on my debit card. My account is with USAA and thankfully they look out for us veterans. So far you have charged me a total of $56.00 from my account. I have been temp refunded $28 of it through USAA while this charge is being disputed. The second charge is still pending, so I can’t do anything about it until it appears as a charge. However, you will not get anything else from my account as I have cancelled that debit card and had a new one issued. Your practices are totally without scruples and you operate your shady business without shame. You should be ashamed of yourselves for operating in such a manner. I have called your number to cancel and have been hung up on a few times. Trying to cancel on your website is impossible because since I never signed on to your website to ask a question, I don’t have a login. So don’t think you can smooth talk your way out of this.

  4. i had the exact same thing happen to me as mr. kilpatrick. they told me $5 for my question i paid it they answered it i hung up. today i checked my statement and they took $29.00 out of my account 2/25 which is tomarrow and they won’t refund it. i think its a scam for your money big time

  5. So, my wife was trying to resolve an issue concerning a security key # for an
app called 1Password (or something like that). She was some how routed to a page asking her to “click here” for help. Being somewhat naive to the hidden traps on the internet she went ahead and clicked. If there was anything on the page suggesting that she was signing up for a $5.00 trail and a $46 membership fee it wasn’t apparent to her. When I saw it on my credit card bill I googled “just answer” and called the phone number. I talked to a lady named Jimson (not sure of spelling). I asked her who she worked for and where was she physically located. She told me she worked for Justanswer and was located in the Philippines. Although the lady was very nice I was required to give her significant information so she could verify my account….things like the first six numbers and last four numbers of my credit card, she also needed our email account. To my way of thinking, reputable company typical assign you their account number for you to refer too. This alone makes me very skeptical. Anyway, the lady said she canceled the account but if I wanted a refund I needed to contact their lawyers. I’m still searching for answers on how they got authorization to charge my credit company. I thinking about going back to snail mail and checks. I feel I can’t trust anyone or anything on line.

  6. I called just answer experts to help me reset my Amazon Kindle. I’m 54 years old and I forget things. I couldn’t get to text someone without signing up for $5. So I did. Texting with the person, they suggested it was better talking to a live person for $26. I didn’t have a extra $26. I asked can you send me a reset code. Two hours later, I receive a text dating to reset the kindle. I figured that out an hour before and had completed the reset. Ever since then, they have tried to take money from a empty prepaid visa that I use for bills. As a disabled veteran, my money is short. Now a$50 bill is short $47 to a service I don’t need and probably won’t use. Yes I feel like I’ve been scammed for something simple.

  7. These people are shameless scammers. I don’t know how they sleep at night. I contacted my bank to dispute a charge of $54 for some guy to call me to yell at me.

  8. Just answer experts are fake. I have been trying to stop from charging me and they continued after they have been told to STOP.

  9. SCAM. I was pleased with the advice I got, but was unaware of the ongoing charges and they make it very difficult to figure out if you’re being charged. I thought I had it figured out and then found out 3 months later I was being charged $28/month for nothing. I called to ask for a refund and they said no, that I had agreed to it and that they’d sent me email to that affect. If you don’t cancel within 7 days, they assume you’re agreeing to this. That was not made clear to me and I was looking for the scam. I asked to speak to a manager and they put me on hold, after 20 minutes I hung up. I am more than happy to pay for good advice but I am not happy to be a sucker and they got me.

    1. if you never cancelled with them by the time your free 7-day trial was up , then that is your own fault . learn to read . they tell you upfront to cancel in 7 days or it will be assumed you want their monthly membership which is about $46 . lot of you here complaining ; when in fact you need to learn to READ .

  10. They are criminals and should be reported to police. They took money from my account a month after I payed one stupid consultation and they had my card number. CRIMINAL ORGANISATION

  11. Unfortunately I signed up for the free trial to get legal advice. Today I find I have been charged $46.00 dollars because I did cancel the account. Called and said I never signed to have an account, only the free trail. They stated because I did not cancel the account, the money was not refundable.. Do not waste your time and money with them.

  12. They are a scam. They surreptitiously sign you up monthly when you only have one question. They do this by confusing the customer with a web site that is designed to get you signed up monthly. Why would anyone with a single question want a monthly sign up? They rip you off. Beware these are sneaky dishonest people.. I could not say this better myself. The only thing I would add is that the provider I talked to assured me I would not be billed further, and then I got an unauthorized and unwanted 46.00 charge to my card. The rude “customer service rep.” was rude and said their contracted representative was not authorized to offer me any assurance about further billing. The BBB indicates that at least 25% of customers take the time to file complaints with them. This is a high percentage. I am not surprised that with new funding they are changing their name to Pearl. Which is a more common name and more difficult to pin it down as a scam. BUYER BEWARE OF JUST ANSWER AND PEARL

  13. These people just went into my account and took $1.00 just to see if they could. I had just received a new card because the old one had been compromised and they went into my account on the new card. I have not used their service and they could not tell me who they are. How do I keep them out of my account? I talked with them by phone and the talking sounded like a machine of some sort. They asked me for all of the info. that one wouldn’t give out, so I hung up.

  14. I too got scammed by this. I paid for the trial which was $5, but apparently this automatically signed me up for the membership and they then charged me $46, which I did not authorize, nor did I agree to have a subscription to their membership. It said nothing about being part of the membership after paying for the free trial, and I want my money back but nobody will answer their customer service phone number. I even changed my card number to make sure they will not charge me again. For this is a load of bullcrap.

We also send a Subscription Reminder email before your first billing date to announce that your trial period is coming to an end and that your first membership payment is coming up.

  15. I asked a question on line and had a prompt answer, but I have now received an email saying that £47 will be taken on 21/05/19.
I have asked to cancel and to have a refund for money taken above the quick answer fee of £5, which I was happy to pay.
I have had no response and I am concerned.
The positive side is that I had a quick and helpful answer.

  16. This is a total rip off! Don’t fall for it ! They charged my credit card $5 before I decided to not finish filling out the form because there involved a $28 dollar monthly fee ! I called for refund and got total run around! I will in the future and all consumers should look over all the reviews before subscribing to a service! WHAT A TOTAL RIPOFF THIS Was! Will talk to my American Express card for a dispute!

    1. Hello Shirley,

We’re very sorry for any inconvenience. The only way that we could charge your card is if you completed the payment authorization and submitted your question on the site. 17. Like Rochelle above I, too, say SCAM! Requested one question and got charged membership fees, and the $5.oo refundable fee, $46 dollar membership fee and refusal to refund any monies or speaking to a supervisor, even though I cancelled prior to expiration of trial period. They state not showing any cancellation and I have no way to prove anything.

    1. Hello Tina,

Thanks for letting us know about this. We’d be happy to take another look at your account and see when the cancellation request came in.

  18. If this business is not a scam it is doing a terrific job impersonating one that is. It’s rating with the Better Business Bureau now has me wondering about the reliability of their ratings.

    1. Hi there Stephen,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this. We’re sorry for any confusion.

We were able to locate your account and it looks like you reached out to us thinking we were Quicken. You had a question about a billing from Quicken that we weren’t able to respond to because we’re not affiliated with Quicken or Intuit.

As soon as we became aware of the mistake in your question, since it seemed like you had reached the wrong company, we issued a refund for all charges that you incurred.

We hope that this changed your feelings about the site.

Also, between December and May each year we field about half a million Tax questions from customers across the United States and around the world. So we can definitely help you with your Tax questions when the time comes.

  20. They said if I was not satisfied with the answer I didn’t have to pay. The answer I got was EXACTLY what you get when you google the question I had! I said I wanted a more detailed answer but they refused, saying the answer I got was all they had. I said I was not satisfied and wanted a refund. They refused. They also signed me up for monthly fee, which I certainly didn’t agree to. I had to cancel the credit card to stop it. I think a lot of their “experts” are housewives that google answers to the questions and charge you $45!

    1. Hello Ronna,

Thanks for letting us know about this. We’re sorry for the frustration, If you didn’t get any assistance then we can definitely process your refund. We’d love to take a look at what happened in the conversation with the agent.

  21. Customer BEWARE of this website! They lied and said they sent me a welcome E-mail notifying me that I was now subscribed, (automatically) for $29.00 a month. They did not do this, I did a mail search and checked SPAM. Nothing. What, I requested was a $5 answer, and that was it. I did not ENROLL. So they send me this screen snapshot, which was clearly not mine, didn’t even have the same $ amount they were charging me. They refused to refund the $29 they charged to me. I caught it after 2 months, I’m out $58! DO NOT TRUST THEM. I see others have been ripped off.! Class action?

    1. Hello Debra,

Thanks for getting in touch with us about this.

  22. I personally think this company is a scam due to the fact most of the people who have encountered the same or similar results which is Not knowing that they had signed up for a membership until they discovered it on their bank statements months after they had even asked an online question! Be careful when using this type of online service because it is subliminally ripping people off !! Imagine how many people have failed to catch this error before losing god knows how much money just to get an answer to one single question!!

    1. Hi there Melvin,

Thanks for reaching out about this. We’re sorry if you’ve had a negative experience on the site.

We take the complaints and concerns seriously and are constantly working to improve the service offering on the site. The Experts that respond to customer questions on the site provide the same expertise that any other service provider would, but at a fraction of the cost and with the added convenience of being able to work on an issue from your home.

We hope to see you back on the site in the future if you need help with anything and we’re always here to answer any questions that you might have about the site or your account. Feel free to reach us anytime from the Help Page.

  23. Talked to them this morning to cancel the subscription I didn’t know I had! Told them their on-line review presence was full of people who feel they’ve been scammed, including me. I don’t know who these people are but the woman I talked to kept throwing up problems. First she wanted my credit card number (first 6 and last 4 numbers) in order to find my ‘account’ which I didn’t give – interesting that she then asked me to spell my email address and when I did, she incorrectly “heard” the letters “t” “o” “m” and “b” in the word ‘bottom’. So I gave it back to her with initial letter words. Finally got mad enough to tell her to get me off the list today, she said “of course”, and I hung up! SCAM SCAM SCAM

    1. Hi there J,

We’re sorry to hear about any frustration that you had in speaking with out agent.

In order to locate your account, like most companies on the internet we need a few essential pieces of information. the most common among those are:

      1. Email address
      2. Order ID
      3. First 6 and last 4 of the card charged
      4. Email address of a PayPal account that was charged.

It sounds like you might have hung up before we were able to locate the account, if that is the case, the issue that you were having might not have been addressed.

Please reach back out to us here or try to reach out to us again from our Contact Us page.

We look forward to hearing from you.

      Regards,
      JustAnswer Customer Care

  24. Well, this probably won’t be well received but here goes. Just Answer is not a scam. I am one of the experts on JA. I started out as a customer like everyone else here. Got to talk to a TV repairman who told me how to fix my broken TV and he saved me easily $300. Being that I was so impressed with the site, I joined as an expert for my field and have been answering questions since 2011 and I have thousands of satisfied customers. I have actually had customers in life and death, in the moment situations that I have spoken to over the phone and fixed their situation with my knowledge. I have customers who come back repeatedly and ask for me. Clearly, they are quite happy.

The few dissatisfied customers that I have had are unhappy with the answer itself (even though it is honest and truthful – don’t shoot the messenger, folks), or they don’t understand how to use the online system, or they are confused by the fees and/or billing so they give the expert the negative rating. Meanwhile, the experts have ZERO to do with the billing department. All I can do is send your question to customer service if you are unhappy about something with the charges.

Bad news travels faster than good news, and you’ll rarely ever see someone come on a site like this to post good feedback, so take these negative comments with a grain of salt.. Just Answer is not a scam. If you’ve had a negative experience, you probably misread or didn’t understand something that you agreed to. Even so, if you call customer service, they’ll get it straight. The A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau is not wrong.

  25. They are a scam, the First appointment they mention that they are going to charge 1 dollar after two days they charge 49 dollars without any reason. They also not ready to reimburse the money. Please don’t use this website.

    1. Hi there DJ,

Thanks for reaching out about this. That does sound like an odd experience, you shouldn’t have been billed after 2 days if you were on the membership, if you weren’t on the membership, you’d just be billed the full value of the question immediately, so the 2-day delay does sound odd.

We’d love to take a look at this.

Please reach out to our Customer Care team form the Contact Us page and we’ll sort this out ina few minutes.

We look forward to hearing from you.

      Regards,
      JustAnswer Customer Care

contrary to most of these comments I find the service EXTREMELY helpful.

  27. 5 bucks is ok for a question. 52 bucks just showing up on your bank account is anther thing. Then try to find the cancel button. All of the stories of misleading information says SCAM!!!
I don’t think this is an honest way to do business. Stay away from this site. Leagle is one thing doing business honestly is another. Participate at your own risk.

    1. Hello Mike,

Thanks for letting us know about this experience. we’re sorry to hear that you feel this way.

We can confirm that you’ve cancelled your membership and will see no further recurring billing.

  28. I was very happy to talk to a veterinary expert on JustAnswer. I paid $5 for the 7 day free trial and then an additional $28 to speak with the expert on the telephone. The answer and advice I was given was worth far more than what I paid.

I got the email notice about my trial membership and went to the site again to find out how much the monthly membership fee was. I could not find the financial details of the month to month membership ANYWHERE on the site. I found descriptions of the membership and the benefits but NOWHERE was the monthly fee listed.

I finally contacted customer service by chat and was told that the membership fee was $30 per month. If I thought that I would use the service 1 or two times a month, the $30 fee would be ok. However, as I look back over the last few years of my life, I can’t think of any other time that I would have reached out to a service like this. The membership gives you unlimited access to basic benefits (online, individualized answers to all questions. However, if you want to speak with someone there is an additional charge and if you want someone to look at a file that you upload there is an extra charge.

Without the monthly fee, you pay as you go. For me that is the best way to go.

After getting the information on the monthly rate ($29) I told the customer service person that I was chatting with that I wanted to cancel. They offered to give me a second week free and sent me to their “supervisor”. I told the supervisor that I still wanted to cancel. (I don’t like having to remember to come back on X date to cancel). The “supervisor” then offered me and additional 15 days free. I had to be very firm and tell them that I wasn’t interested and please just cancel.
They did cancel my account at that point.

The service they sell (getting an expert answer) is excellent. But their transparency about fees is sketchy. If the details of the “membership” were easily available and customer service didn’t make it so difficult to cancel or switch to a “pay as you go” plan – I would be completely satisfied. However, the lack of transparency regarding charges and the difficulty cancelling did make my “SCAM” alert flash red.

Bottom line: I would use the service again but be vigilant to ensure I was not setting myself up for another monthly bill.

    1. Hi there Suzanne,

We’re sorry that you felt like the membership wasn’t more clear, we’ll give this feedback to our Product team.

We do present the membership price on the payment page where you first enter your billing information, as well as in a receipt and recurring billing reminder E-mail and in the Membership tab of the My Account page.

We’re thrilled to hear that you found the advice from the Expert to be helpful and we definitely hope to hear back from you in the future if you need help from a verified Expert.

Please reach out to Customer Care again if you have ANY questions about the site, we’re happy to help.

  29. Scam. I had a question for Microsoft. This looked like it was a legit Microsoft help line. They charged me $5 then $10 then$39. I have asked for my money back but so far no response.

  30. That “Answer” may be good, but be VERY aware of their deceptive marketing techniques.

I needed help on one issue and thought I’d get JustAnswer a chance, even though my practice is not to sign up for “automatic enrollment/automatic pay after trial membership” programs. But they promised that I could cancel at any time and would be notified when trial membership ended. Unfortunately, I failed to heed several warning signs that came back to bite me: 1) No explicit (or at least easily apparent) indication of how long the trial membership is. 2) No indication of how long before the trial membership ended you will be notified of that fact. 3) No easily apparent indication of how to cancel a membership.

The trial membership is only a week and I was notified the DAY that it ended that I needed to cancel. They also CHARGED my credit card the DAY BEFORE my regular membership started. Unfortunately, I was out of email communication on THAT day. Even though I cancelled immediately the very next day (on the day my regular membership “started”) and thus received NO BENEFITS from my regular membership, they now tell me that by policy, my membership fee is nonrefundable.

In other words, they find they must resort to less that transparent communication with potential members and harsh refund policies to make a buck. Since I haven’t and won’t have further dealings with them, I can’t predict how these policies will translate to overall experience, but I do know it’s not a good sign.

  31. This company is a total scam! I was supposed to get an answer for a question I had and the mechanic online was totally off base.He had no idea what was wrong with my vehicle and kept trying to guess. Eventually I gave up on his advice and hung up. Later I got a $34.00 charge on my account, when I called them and asked for a refund because they charged my CC account the very next day for the membership, they told me I had used their service 10 days before I actually had, therefore the trial period was over. When I asked them why they did not ask for my CC info on the “alleged” first time they had no answer. In fact, I was out of the country on the date they say I had first used their service. I again asked them to refund my money and their answer was NO. Please …..If your reading this, alert your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors that this company is a SCAM!

  32. They engage in unscrupulous business practices. I had a single issue. Paidb $5.00 for a trial membership, then they said I needed to purchase a premium membership for $39.00.::Was the billed twice for the $39.00 on the 28th I requested they refund the $39.00 duplicate charge and cancel my membership. On he 31st they then billed me $46.00 for another months membership. When I called to talk about this I was told the agent I spoke to on the 28th did not make any comments regarding my request to cancel my membership on the 28th therefore I was not entitled to a refund. The company website says “100 percent satisfaction guaranteed,. If you dissatisfied in any way your money will be refunded, “NO QUESTION ASKED”. So much for their corporate gaurantees. TOTALLY DISSATISFIED AND NOTHING I CAN DO”!!!!!!

  33. THE ULTIMATE SCAM

I utilized the week trial for $5 to receive “expert” advice regarding my pet. The “expert” literally told me exactly what I found on Google and said “Go visit a Vet”, which completely defeated the purpose of me using the service in the first place. I immediately cancelled the membership via email. They continued to charge my account $29 for the following months of services and refused to refund me, even thought i had written proof that I cancelled my membership. They said “They never got my email”. The customer service is absolutely horrible and I believe the services are a total scam.

My husband couldn’t get on to his Hotmail account, he thought he was talking to microsoft i thought it was weird they charged $5, he even called and the recording said the same so stupid him handed over the card details. Problem was never resolved and i have just noticed another $67.98 charge. Biggest scam ever ………. Oh and he couldn’t get the email that his free trial was up as they are still not working cause you are obviously not Microsoft and didn’t help 🙁

  35. This is a scam and it cost $ 40.00 to find that out. I had a software issue that I was trying to get resolved and stumbled onto these illegitimate refugees from who knows where. They charged me .10 cents 5 times and never recieved an answer even related to my question. To add insult to injury they charged me a membership fee of $ 40.00 dollars on my card. My bank couldn’t help but to cancel the card and issue a new one. I called 1-800-240-1371 pressed option 1 for the first 2 questions and worked to an actual person. At last I was able to supposedly have cancelled my membership. Lesson learned ” only ask people who really know about your specific issue and not some online machine”

  36. But why do you guys have to deprive me of my intern stipend, i already had a session with a doctor on August 6th, of which i paid a fee for. Then today 9th September, a sum of USD46 was deducted from my account. This is so unfair and inhumane, i never requested for a membership subscription.
JustAnswers.com, kindly refund me of my hard-earned money, this isn’t unfair, just because you guys have my card details. Kindly refund me my money please.

We would be happy to answer any questions you have about your account. Please visit our Help Center and click on the blue Contact Us button:

  39. I’ve been scammed!! I did a question for $5 and did not proceed to the membership. Yet I’ve been charged $50. I called to let justanswer know and get my refund and was told i could not have one. Someone please help me!!! The people i talked to refused to give me my refund. I used the site for one question one time.

    1. Hello Rylie,

We’re very sorry for any inconvenience. We do not have an offer for a one time fee of $5 for a question. The offer is $5 for a 7 day trial membership. The details for this trial offer are clearly shown on the payment authorization page and it states upfront that the membership can be cancelled at any time. Customers who agree to the offer must opt out of the membership before the end of the trial period if they do not want to continue receiving membership benefits. Our terms of service plainly state that membership payments are non-refundable. Additionally, as a courtesy to our customers, we send a reminder email before your first billing date. This email includes a cancellation link.

We hope this clears things up for you. If you have further concerns or questions we would be happy to assist you. Please feel free to reach out to us via our Help Center at https://www.justanswer.com/help/contact-us . Be sure to ask for our admin. team and reference your Learnanet review.

  40. After I signed up for the $5 trial fee, i read that i would receive an email the day before my trial period was going to end and the $49 monthly fee would start. I did not receive any such email and my credit card was charged $49.
Also I did not like the fact that after receiving the answer to my issue (which did not help) I received an email saying “please answer the survey with a rating of 5 stars”, what?

    1. Hello Mike,

We apologize, but we can’t guarantee delivery of the payment reminder notice. Have you checked your spam folder?

  41. Complete fraud. They continue to charge me months after I’ve “cancelled”. They give the impression that you can “cancel any time” online, and give the impression that you won’t be charged anymore, but they continue to charge you.

I may have to open a new bank account in order to prevent them from withdrawing funds. When you tire of their service and want to cancel, make sure you call them. Don’t fall for the “cancel online” scam. JustAnswer is a fraud – they are thieves.

    1. Hello Paul,

  42. This company is a ginormous scam. $5 to ask a serious question about my dog, the “assistant” then says the Dr. will answer my question soon. It says 8 minutes. 34 more minutes later and still no response. During that time I dog got sicker so we just brought her to the vet. An hour after I “asked” my question, and still no response from the “Dr.” or “Expert”, I canceled my question and my membership (of which I didn’t want to join, just get advice). This morning at 11:50am 13 hours AFTER I asked a question, they answer and charge me $14. A total of $19 for a question they never answered. Such a waste. Do NOT use them or trust them. Complete scam.

    1. Hello Julie,

  43. Yeah, um robbery at it’s finest. I didn’t receive the e mail stating my 7 days were up and they would charge me 46 dollars. The money was gone though. I called and an operator named marbie verified I wasn’t sent any notifications. She insisted my money will be returned. I originally asked one question. After I refused to give the expert a rating for his simple reply, he hounded me at 2 am saying I needed to rate him so he could get credit. I was texting with this expert until 4am. His reply was short. I finally gave this expert a star rating so he would just go away. Hopefully my money is refunded promptly.

    1. Hello Robert,

  45. JAE is not a scam, but I did call the number to cancel and still got billed the monthly fee. The answer I received was descent, same as what I had found on the www. The lawyer took time to read my initial statement. I gave him 5 stars. My concern is at the moment. September 24, I had an ACH payment of $46.00 taken from my account. I am asking in this forum seeing how the telephone number did not do as I had requested to CANCEL MY ACCOUNT.

    1. I understand Mr. Getz. The telephone number provided on this review was the number found on the JAE website used to cancel my friend’s service referenced. I would recommend that you contact your bank to have them block any future recurring ACHs by JAE.

  46. Again I have asked for my money to be refunded but without success.
for the last three months £40 each month taken form my bank account even when I have requested it to be refunded. I seem to be ignored, so I have no choice but to refer you to the law society.

    1. Mr. Sheen I understand your frustration regarding JustAnswer. Let me emphasize that this website is NOT owned by JustAnswer. This is in an independent review. As for JustAnswer, I advise that you contact your bank to block any ACH or recurring debits from JustAnswer service.

  47. Never heard of Justanswer, until read an email telling me that I owed them $40.00, They had hacked my bank account and removed money 4 times before I found out. $40 to $65!!!

  48. They scammed me. Like others, it was just for a trial, just once, and I got a monthly membership without knowing how. I am trying to unsubscribe after 3 months of paying for nothing. As I am living in Switzerland, they have put me automatically on a Deutschland site. But I am from the French part of a small country with 3 official languages, and do not speak Deutsch. So I must have clicked somewhere I shouldn’t have !
I have tried to unsubscribe all the ways possible, but they seem not to have/find my email account. Funny, they have my Visa account to bill me though ! When I told them that, they closed the discussion.
I used to be cautious. I thought I was. Now I will go to my bank, but should have been more diligent sooner ! My fault.

  49. I checked a box to pay a lawyer for a conversation, and then I was automatically put on membership and charged 53 dollars for October and November that I did not agree to and I need the money back and I did not use services in those months, and I never signed or gave my PIN.

  50. As with so many others, stay away from this company. The “answers” I got were all non-helpful, and my responses to them of cancel my service went unanswered and unhandled, as five weeks after my “trial period” started, they charged my card $46 for a monthly renewal. They have supposedly cancelled future charges but refuse to refund the 11/23 charge. Not a company you should work with, ever.

  51. My 18 year old son signed up for a free trial and asked one question. For the last 3 months he was charged $46 a month. $138 for one question. They would not refund anything and he stupidly did not review his bank statements until home on Thanksgiving break. Total scam and heartless company. They count on you not realizing you are now tied in with a huge monthly fee. They don’t care if there is customer dissatisfaction. He is a college student with zero income. We will spread the word how horrible they are. Stay away from this company

  52. Similar experience. The signup page says they’ll notify you one day before billing the monthly fee. They didn’t do so. Repeated inquiries to customer “service” get messages similar to those above – completely ignoring my issue and referring me back to the “Terms of Service”. The tech they connected me with did answer my question (about Microsoft’s OneCloud). But I was scammed here too. Will protest with my credit card company, and hope they don’t keep charging the card.

  53. Total scam. And taking advantage of the elderly as well.

My 82 year old dad called the number based on a google search. He thought he was talking with Apple (and they let him think he was talking to Apple) about his iPad he was having issues with. They told him they would charge him $1.00. He didn’t understand that he would be charged the $46 a week later and because of that, he didn’t cancel it either. When I called to cancel, they would not refund the amount and kept asking if his question had been answered, as if that would justify the charges. And for the record, no it wasn’t answered as he ended up just buying a new one. Also justified that initial $1 because they donated that to charity – that appears to be true since my dad’s credit card bill had multiple $0.10 charges to diabetes, cancer, home4vets, etc. although who knows if those are actual legit charities?

He said he was never told about the $46, just the $1. Fortunately, we were able to contact the credit card company and notify them that he had been scammed and they immediately and permanently reversed the charge. They also said they would handle any future charges that come through since we did officially cancel and other reviews suggest the scammers continues to charge even after cancellation. My advice – call your credit card company immediately!

    1. Hello Candace,

Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We’re sorry for any frustration that your family encountered in using the website.

While we are not affiliated with Apple, we do have technicians who work on the site to respond to and resolve technical issues with devices from a number of different manufacturers.

We are happy to take another look at the account that your father registered to see if there are any other open concerns that need to be addressed.

We have attempted to reach out to you privately through other review sites to gather the appropriate account information.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

      Regards,
      JustAnswer Customer Care

  54. Got me as well, very deceptive business practice. WIll not suggest this to anyone and actively advise people to stay clear of the site.

  55. I have tried them 3 times and every time it is a bogus answer. I am a qualified 40 year technician and the answers don’t make any sense. Asked for a wiring diagram for refrig &he wants to know if I have unplugged and plugged the refrig back in. Wil be watching to be sure they don’t take money on my card. DON’T use them!

  56. I would say I am a dissatisfied customer.Just answer made me pay $5,then for a call $28 which was automatically deducted from my card and no call came through. After every seven days they were deducting $37 .I had some money into my account deposited from a certain source in less than 15 minutes just answer deducted another $37.50 .Prior to that deduction I had cancelled my membership.so it seems like even after cancelling your membership they will keep deducting money.
I am in Botswana and we work hard here in Africa for our finances. Honestly speaking I cant agree less if some tells me this is SCAM.

  57. Arrrrrrr…….. I wish I would have read all these reviews first. I’m now out over $60 for a question I had that was easily answered by Google. Unfortunately, when I entered my question into google it sent me straight to Justanswer and at the time I thought it was harmless to pay their trial fee to get my answer. Yeah….now I’m just PISSED! It’s very sucky when a company’s service can’t be supported by their actual work and has to lure their customers in with shady membership fees. They charged me for $29 (a second month, I missed the first one with the holidays), I called the next day to cancel and they refused to refund me for the rest of the month. I told them they could keep the $1 for the day, but wanted the rest of the payment for the month that I will not use. So shady. So basically it’s my fault for not canceling right away when I realized it wasn’t a legit business, but this last payment they should have refunded.

  58. They charged my credit card 33 euro at Greece ,with no actions from my side
Now I have to go to the bank and ask my money back for an illegal transaction
    Usually the bank pays back
But I want the money back from these guys

  59. Yep! I got scammed to!! Believe what you read here and go and find a real person to ask a question of, this is a “membership fee” SCAM! I am glad that the reviewer here does NOT recommend using this business.

  60. Yes, scammed for best part of USD 100. Should have read the reviews first and checked my credit card statement more carefully. Hopefully now out of their clutches.

  61. I called and explained upfront I was on disability and repeatedly told them I couldn’t afford a monthly charge and was repeatedly assured it wouldn’t happen. This was November. So I got an answer on a mirror and cancelled right away after receiving a decent answer to be sure I wouldn’t be charged monthly. In December I was charged again and called in and was assured the charges would stop. No refund offered. Low and behold it’s February and they Are STILL taking $28/month from my account. I called in and spoke with a heavily foreign accented person (my disability is being severely hearing impaired. I explained repeatedly I couldn’t understand her but she insisted she was helping me and wouldn’t transfer me to her supervisor or anyone else I could understand. Best I can tell my membership is now cancelled a 2nd time but I have no faith this will stop continued deductions from my account as this is the 2nd time I’ve been told this. Buyer beware! Do NOT use this service unless you can afford many unauthorized deductions from you account with no hope of getting anything back!

  62. Please, please make sure you want to use this service after you use it for one question, otherwise, be prepared to get billed 60.00 per month if you do not cancel within the 5-day trial.

  63. I contacted them on a computer problem. Their “expert” couldn’t seem to understand what I was trying to accomplish, he finally told me to go into some settings that had nothing to do with my problem. I gave up at that point and tried to cancel my trial.
The next month I got charged $46.00 on my card. I again tried to cancel but the person I got on the telephone insisted that she couldn’t transfer me to someone who could help unless I signed up for another “trial”. There is no way I would ever sign up with them again so they could begin scamming me a second time.
It happens that I am changing banks this month so this debit card won’t work the next time they try to use it. But I am still out the money and their help was useless.

  64. They promised an answer within 30 minutes when I signed up for the $5 free trial. 1-1/2 hrs later, NO ANSWER. Called their customer service who clearly was not located on the east coast of the USA – 1st lie. Told me that I had only been waiting for an answer for 38 minutes – LIE #2. Had to berate representative to get a refund (will check the bank, but at least do have an email in B&W. I can almost bet that they never answer any Qs or a limited # of Qs.

  65. The company strategy seems to be ‘Sound professional, move you through several signup questions and be vague about sucking extra money out of foolish people who are too trusting’!! The ‘expert’ didn’t fix my problem and a month later I was billed for the service and was signed up for membership that was not wanted. Called someone at the website and after 15 annoying minutes they agreed to remove the monthly charge and cancel the membership. We will see if they follow through. This type of behavior by sleazy companies should anger everyone.

  66. The company strategy seems to be ‘Sound professional, move you through several signup questions and be vague about sucking extra money out of foolish people who are too trusting’!! This type of behavior by sleazy companies should anger everyone.

  67. I tried to use them and found a total shambles. Their system give the customer a way to communicate with their expert and most of their people have very foreign accents and are very hard to understand. I’m shutting them down.

  68. They Scammed me also. My expert actual said, she could not answer my question unless I gave a 5/5 review. When I complained I was told another expert would look at it , and they charged me a month. So basically they strung me along for the weeks trial without answering and their way to make it better was to charge me even more.

I also gave a 1 star review – and it didn’t show up on their feedback, which had both experts getting nothing but 5/5 reviews. Then on other sites, they get 2/5 as an average. My guess is they just port over all their 5/5 reviews to trust pilot – hence why they get 1/5 or 5/5 and very little in the middle. The response I eventually got, after paying twice, was cut and pasted from a government website. I then called two local solicitors both of whom answered my question, for free, in less than an hour.

  69. They are a scam. Said I’d be charged $1 then would be refunded; however, began charging me $50 per month membership fee. DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS!!!!

  70. so.. I decided to give it a try, 7 days, free.. why not. They were kind enough to say that they were going to contact me reminding when the trial was about to expire. Silly me, I believed them. I was sick last week and I completely forgot to cancel and they charged me the 29 dollars. Called three times asking for a refund, no luck. All they say it’s their “policy”.

I have a bad feeling about this place. I don’t even know if I’m really talking to real veterinaries. Stay away. DO NOT USE THEM. I will make sure I spread the word.

  71. A $5 hook on your credit card allows them to take $66 a month from me WITHOUT ANY MONTHLY NOTIFICATION. I assume this is because not everybody checks their card statement
every month so it might go unnoticed for a while so they get free money.
Its very hard to believe there are “members” who need to use the site constantly at that rate
so I assume that slight of hand is the business model.
So basically they want people to pay for something they dont need or want until they get found out. Then when you cancel”at any time” they charge you another month for good measure!!
IF YOU HAVE JUST FOUND THEM OUT WHY WOULD YOU WANT ANOTHER MONTH?!!

  72. What a scam – they could not provide an answer and then went on to charge me on a monthly basis.

  73. They scammed me too. They asked for a 5 star review before they would answer my question. That’s right, before. Then they cut and pasted from HMRC website – something I already knew. When I asked for them to answer they tried to charge me again (without telling me). On 3 separate cases they admitted there service had not yet answered my question and I they would resolve this – nothing happen on all 3 occasions. I called a local practitioner who answered my question for free in a few minutes. Absolute SCAM. This is just a lead generation service that has found a way to charge for the initial meeting.

  74. The website is very, very obvious and really, really clear about it being a 7 day trial for $5 then after the 7 days if u haven’t cancelled they charge u a monthly fee. I mean it says it, at one point they are the only words on the screen. If u missed this information, u dont need a lawyer, u need an optometrist.

  75. do not sign up with this company.. not worth it.. difficult to cancel memebrship which was in fine print during trial .. bascically a scam!!!

  76. I have no idea how I got on your list – I have reviewed my past postings and cannot find anything that indicates any inquires. I have written to my MasterCard provider and told them not pay any charges from your company.

    1. Mr. Burke, learnanet.com is an independent website for reviews and we DO NOT have a “list” sir. You got on JustAnswer Expert’s list when you signed up with them and that’s why you were charged by JustAnswer Expert. I do think it’s a great idea that you informed your MasterCard provider. Perhaps they can reimburse for charges by JustAnswer.

  77. Hi I’m Sandy
I signed up to justanswer yesterday to ask a quick question, it was supposed to be a 7 day free trial – they took £35 from my bank today – I have contacted them and I am waiting for a response- I will be back to let you all know how it goes

  78. They also took £50 for three months from my account for a subscription I wasn’t aware I had signed up for. Its a scam.

  79. Yes they scammed me as well $40 a month taken out of my account and haven t even asked them a question they are B/S stay away from these scammers

  80. Probably the biggest SCAM site I’ve ever had the misfortune of coming across.
Please, PLEASE read the reviews before giving any information to them! Especially your credit card!!
I cannot stress enough how unbelievably RUDE and downright UNPROFESSIONAL & UNPLEASANT THE REPRESENTATIVES ARE!!!!!
I have lost soooooo much time & money because of this CON SITE! I have absolutely NOTHING POSITIVE TO RELAY ABOUT THEM!
THEY ARE SNEAKY, RUTHLESS, DISHONEST, DISRESPECTFUL, DISHONORABLE SCAM ARTISTS, WHO MAKE A LIVING OFF OF CONNING HONEST PEOPLE!!!
They are seriously unprofessional and 100% UNRELIABLE! Even getting a damn call back is like pulling teeth.

    Imo, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

  81. I don’t remember I ever used this service, but I was shocked to find out after 3 months that I was charged £47 three times: grand total of £141 was taking from my current account, Which is ridiculous. This is a scam and nothing else. I could claim my money!

  82. I wasn’t notified about the monthly payments, or the fact that I had to cancel within 7 days to avoid further payments. I paid the $5 without being told about the membership. Now I can’t get out of this service

  83. I am furious about being burned by this company! This is the most unethical, unscrupulous internet business. Without my permission or authorization, they charged my credit card $60, and have refused to reverse the charge. They’re advertising is extremely deceptive, and good luck trying to navigate their website if you try to cancel. This business needs to be shut down! Notify your bank and credit card companies immediately to block them from taking your money!

  84. I have read all your reports and I am convinced the site is a SCAM I recently had to ask for some advice I was told they could help me but must fill form out paying them £5/00p English money. This I did like a good have the my Bank details .the advice was not satisfactory .but one week later they took out of my account a further £50.00p without my permission. There was no suggestion about Membership. My case is now in the hands of my Bank fraud squad I called back to the site and told them I wanted my Money back the person I text to said he will put me in contact with someone who will sort my request .then the cheeky B…… Asked me fill another request of £5.00p I knew then the firm is a SCAM I wIll let you know how they will sort this SCAM out .Respectfully Mr Kevin Murphy ( I am 78 years old and I thought they might have some respect because of my age but as usual they don’t respect any body?)

    1. Mr Murphy, thanks for leaving your comment. I don’t recommend using JustAnswer Expert at all due to their deceptive advertising and constant complaints that they have online. Hopefully your bank is able to refund your money.

  85. if my bank cannot get the refund request by them how do I contact Just Answer I can not find there Email address. To get them to process my refund

  86. For. Me to ring any of the 2numbers from England will be to expensive .but that you for your help

  87. THIS COMPANY IS DEFINATELY SCAMMERS. I CALLED THE PHONE NUMBER ON MY CREDIT CARD. GOT A LADY NAMED SALVE. IT WAS SO PERSONAL I COULD HEAR A DOG BARKING AND A ROOSTER CROWING. I CALLED 1+800-556-3410 IN CALIFORNIA. I WAS CHARGED $50.00 FOR ONE QUESTION THEY COULD NOT ANSWER. SAID IT WOULD BE $1.00 REFUNDABLE. I AM SO ANGRY I’M ABOUT TO EXPLODE. I SUSPECT IT WAS MY FAULT BUT NOT A $50.00 QUESTION REGARDING WHY THE IRS HAD NOT PROCESSED MY TAX REFUND. THIS COMPANY WAS ON THE IRS WEB SITE.

  88. Nadiya S.
I didn’t create an account on this site. And, I won’t register! I only used the trial version once! I had a single simple question! I was tricked! We took advantage of the fact that the terms of use are very unclear and confusing. I paid $5 as agreed on the website! I didn’t expect to continue with you! I don’t need it! I don’t need registration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are confusing customers with a website that is designed to be subscribed to monthly!!!!!!!!!!!! You secretly signed me up monthly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not work because of my health condition for about 2 years, I have nothing to eat normally and pay for housing, and you deceived me and wrote off $46 from my account on 01.15.2021 !!! Card XXXXXXXXXXX8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Give me back my $46 immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Hello Nadiya,

First off, I’m sorry for your frustration, but I wanted to make clear that this website Learnanet is NOT affiliated at all with JustAnswer Expert NOR represents their service.

You will have to contact the JustAnswer Expert customer service to request refunds for any charges you have received. I hope this helps. Have a great day.

  89. All the experiences I’m reading about ring very true. I asked a minor question about copyright and didn’t realise that I would be paying $800 over many months as silent deductions were being taken out of my credit card. Eventually when I noticed them, support were unwilling to refund anything. I did not receive any emails at the time of monthly deductions. I found the system this Justanswer website uses very deceptive and it seems that lots of people get caught in the trap – people who cannot afford it and it causes terrible problems. My advice is to stay away from it.

  90. Yes they scam people who are not tech savvy..
My friend had lost his phone and stressed was trying to set up new phone he had rushed out to buy after long day at work and got suckered….he would have never signed up to pay for answer and the answer he got was info already known
    Info…like duh

  91. I was looking at a Microsoft website for some guidance on a problem I was having and a window popped up with a chat function. I wrongly assumed they were affiliated with Microsoft. I had to explain in chat the problem, give a credit card number and was told it would only cost a $1.00. That seemed very low but I figured if they’re handling thousands of requests it can add up. They sent their “agreement” form which of course was too long to read as you waited for a tech. I do not recall seeing any warnings about monthly service unless it was buried in the agreement. Within two minutes my credit card company reached out and stated there appeared to be unauthorized activity on my card. Sure enough – the $1.00 charge was there but removed and a $42 charge put in its place. An answer was sent to me via text – which did help me solve the problem. I stopped all charges on the card and I’m getting a new card. I might have very well paid for a monthly service because I’m retired and have no access to experts but bc of their underhanded way of handling my problem – it will not be them.

  92. The webpage said $1.00, refundable. After the basic process without agreeing to anything but the $1.00 charge, I immediately received a notification from PayPal of a recurring $46/mo charge and had already been charged $47, $1 plus the first month at $46…all of this without my knowledge or consent. I have created a number of websites and pay attention to what I am doing and wherever they hid it, it slipped by me. Sleazing at best. Assume that you will pay $47.00 for any question you present.

  93. I was scammed with two withdrawals from my account. They only told me about the first one, which was $ 2.00 Au. Then $ 69.00 Au, and were not able to fix my problem. My advice stay clear of this company they are scammers.

  94. They are a scam. I had a problem with my Roku TV and clicked on their site for advice. The home page of their website says try it for $1.00. When you do this you are told on the next page “try it free for seven days”. OK, because if the answer my question I can cancel immediately and it only will cost me a dollar. I cancelled immediately after my on line chat. Later when I went into my bank account they had helped themselves to $46.00. Hmmmm maybe that’s why they told me I could continue to use the site until February. When I contacted them again and specifically told them I was on a fixed income, would not use the service again and wanted a refund, I was told that this policy was spelled out on the website. LIKE HELL IT WAS! Had I known that the charge was going to be $46.00 I wouldn’t have signed up in the first place! THIS WEBSITE IS A TOTAL SCAM! Stay away! I may not get my $46 back, but at least I have the satisfaction of warning the public about this scam.

  95. On 13 November at 16h39 UK time, I paid my £5 and received a swift basic response to my question. I did not want to pursue the technical query further. At 18h19 , within TWO HOURS of joining, I sent an email requesting that I should not be charged any further amounts as I am cancelling. At the end of November, £30 was taken from my credit card and again in December and January 2022. I requested that the monies be refunded to me but so far I have not received a response nor the refund of £90.00. I played by your rules. Please do likewise and refund my monies.

    1. Hello John, thanks for your comment. However, this website just provides reviews and is not affiliated with JustAnswer Expert. For any refunds on charges, you should contact them directly sir.

  96. JustAnswer is a Scam 100% I was forced to sign in on the $1.00 Answer when I could not get an answer on a side company off of Amazon.com. They sold a refurbished printer, and I ordered it, but when it came, they sent the wrong one. I asked for my money back and they immediately asked for my money back. They said I was not eligible. Then I wrote Amazon and told them that I was a loyal customer and why would they allow a side company to not return my money because of their mistake and I thought it was a horrible practice. They said I was using profanity by using the word “Horrible.” Then this “Just Answer site jumps in and says I had to pay the $1, and nothing happened, and then a $46.00 bill arrived when I looked a few minutes later. Do not do business with the scamming company or the side companies with Amazon with refurbished electronics.

  97. Can you believe the social security web site connected me to these professional scam scum! I gave my credit card # as it said I would only be charged $1.00. I had one clear simple question about getting a form from SocSec and they kept responding back to confuse the issue. This was on line I never actually talked to any one. I got no helpful info. Shortly after I checked my e-mail to find my card company asking if I just authorized a $50.00. I will try to dispute through my credit card. Wish me luck! Jeanne

  98. Contacted JustAnswer Re rejection of ballot by signature. I thought I ok’d
$1.00 fee. Was charged $1.00+$46.00 monthly membership. Called them
for $46 refund as I did not OK this. Was told it was in terms, but it should
be upfront when you give them card# for $1 fee. Was told IT IS NOT
REFUNDABLE! It should be reported to your states’ att-general’s office for
    scamming old people (I’m 75yo.)

  99. BEWARE!!! Bait and Switch from question directly to membership with misleading responses from their virtual assistant bots. Complete Lack of Transparency when speaking with their bot. Review reviews prior to asking ANYTHING with this site. I feel outraged and misled. No connection to a vet as their virtual assistant promised. Told I would be charged $1 by the same assistant and not to worry I wouldnt be charged a $30 fee. This was s blatant lie!! I was immediately charged $30 for a monthly membership I never asked for. I cancelled within 5 minutes. My initial request for refund was met with an email explaining their terms and that I was ineligible for a refund!! Minutes!!!! They took advantage of a dog mom who was worried about her fur baby. I had to take it to the next level and go to PayPal to demand my refund. I resent the extra steps they made me do and that I had to take it to a complaint with my credit card company to get action and make my point. I haven’t demanded a refund on principles more than 2 times in 15 years with PayPal. I got my refund but ONLY because I got angry. I never got an answer as I was promised OR connected to a vet. How dare they prey on people under duress. After seeing their reviews, they should change their payment model. I saw after the fact how many others were dissatisfied with their website. I regret ever asking my question. I will continue to warn others of their predatory practices and hope they get shut down. $30 may not be a lot to some, but this was more about principles. I politely explained I was told I would be charged $1 to be bait and switched to a $30 A MONTH Membership!!!! I never requested a membership! I was asking 1 question!!!!

    Tip for consumers:
Warning: Predatory practices when answering questions. Be extremely cautious about requesting help from the JustAnswer site. It’s a monthly membership service that you are not warned about prior to use. It is not a one time only question/payment/answer. Lack of transparency when speaking with their bot. Review reviews prior to asking anything with this site.

    1. Thanks Ms. Lloyd for sharing your experience with JustAnswer Expert. Hopefully one day they will change their payment process and make it more transparent for all before giving credit cards.

  100. My experience is pretty much the same as all these others.
I thought I was getting a one time charge for one question, and now we’re getting a monthly charge. – SCAM – There was no mention of monthly charge or membership. We called and got it cancelled, but I want our second charge removed. $31. – May not seem like much but feels like more when you feel like it was stolen out of your pocket.

  101. I fell for their scam a while back too. I was trying to authenticate the value of an old book I bought and I fell for their $1 question scam. I was immediately turned off by the fact that my question was handed off to 3 different people in a matter of like 5 minutes with no explanation and each time I repeated a long paragraph of info. Each time the expert tried to coerce me to call them to speak in person for an additional (I think it was $60) bcuz it was inconvenient to have to type the conversation but I didnt want to pay that. The final guy listened to me explain all the details and never asked me any questions, he barely spoke and then an answer popped up and the call ended. His answer ignored half of my question and the result was not satisfactory but he had already hung up, there was no way to complain that my question hadnt been answered. Then I realized their scam and called back to cancel and make sure that I was not charged $42. They made that difficult also and then I ended up getting charged 7 days later anyways and had to call back to fight for a refund. Cut to today, my refrigerator has been on the fritz and I need to see if I can fix it myself or pay to have it fixed, so I googled my question and the first result is for a kitchenaid chat hotline to talk to a technician. I click on that and then told my issues to the chat pop up window and then suddenly a link to ask . com pops up asking for my cc info etc. I immediately closed the window, I will not use that service ever again. Then I started googling and decided to leave this review

  102. Scammers. They take on weak “professionals” with dodgy credentials and ramp up their costs slowly, but surely. They ripped me off the subs and I found their lawyer expert one of the biggest jokes about. My daughter in High School knew more about personal injury than their lawyer. Don’t use.

  103. I did not agree to a monthly renewal, and suddenly after a $1 non-answer, I suddenly got a $28 bill. They would not refund it even though it happened 3 days ago. SCAM. Avoid them.

  104. I feel that I got scammed as well. I had a problem with my printer, and after talking to the first “specialist” and then waiting 15-minutes, someone else finally took over my call. He did, in fact, help me to get my printer working again. However, I was charged $1, and $46, and $39. I just called JustAnswer, and they explained that the $46 is the monthly membership fee (although I immediately cancelled my membership after finishing the repair call), and the $39 was for the software used by the technician to take over my computer (I did give him permission to do that). I do understand the $1 fee and the $46 fee. But the $39 fee? It was not explained to me beforehand that there would be an additional fee of $39. Not happy.

  105. I consider this a real scam website. I’m not absolutley sure I “misread” the part where you give them a dollar, but I don’t think I could have missed anything about charging me $39. and another $46. for membership. I got a call from my bank during the question session, from the fraud division, about those charges, so I declined both of them and accepted the $1. payment part. I then got online with my bank and at this point, my bank has already pulld out the $85. I’m pretty pissed, so I called the answer guys and they said they would cancel the payment, but I won’t be happy until I see it in black and white on my bank page. Marc T.

    1. I have had $28 charged to my MC two months in a row. I never used the service at all and never heard of it until I researched on the internet. Please remove the charges from my account

      1. Hello Ernest, the Learnanet website publishes reviews and is NOT affiliated at all with Just Answer Expert. If you want to stop credit card charges or cancel your Just Answer membership, you must contact them directly. To do this, you can visit https://www.justanswer.com/help/contact-us. They also have a phone number to contact their customer service at 1-800-509-5721.

If you say that you have never used their service, then another option for you is to contact your bank or financial institution to file for fraud and get reimbursed. Hope this helps to resolve your issue.

  106. I was told by the JustAnswer bot that I would be able to ask my one question to a lawyer and the cost for asking this question would be ZAR15 once I filled out the form. I proceeded to complete the form and immediately noticed that the ZAR15 went off my account PLUS an additional ZAR781!!!

I immediately canceled the account that I was now involuntarily signed up for and never got to ask any questions to any so-called expert.

My money got taken without my consent and I got NOTHING in return!!!

I have been reading all over the internet that hundreds of thousands of people have fallen into this deliberate trap that they have set to deceive people.

Instead of delivering a service, they make the majority of their income by taking advantage of people and deliberately deceiving their customers!!!

And it has been going on for years! How, no mean HOW are they still in business??? How are a so-called company that openly scams people allowed to keep operating???

    1. I’m agree with you Chris. I don’t think that it’s right for them to debit accounts without first divulging the exact charge to customers. Unfortunately, this is their practice and as a result, customers have complained regarding this. Hopefully, the JustAnswer Expert customer service will refund you your money or you may have to file a claim through your bank.

  107. Amazing that the same complaint continues year after year. I had very similar experience as many of the others. I was caught in an unexpected membership. If this company truly was sorry that people were again and again surprised by the membership they would do something about making the process more transparent. Obviously this is a great moneymaker for the company and they are loath to change it.

  108. Well I had a question about my lawnmower in May and I gave them my bank info but I dont remember talking to anyone about the mower I may have missed the call. We write alot of checks and I saw a $40 fee on my statement and thought my wife online ordering something. I actually didnt pick up it was an online billing until October, so I called and found out just who JustAnswer was, I had no idea. I cancellled immediately I do show a $40 charge pending hopefully it wont go thru but I wouldnt bet on it. The person I talked to spoke broken english, she said it was cancelled but I see other posts where it keeps recurring regardless. I wanted to ask the person if she could refund any previous months, but we couldnt communicate with her broken english we werent on the same page, so I finally just gave up trying. Thats where we are at, Im out $240 and never had a conversation about anything with anyone its just money down the drain. I really cant see myself ever giving out my bank info anymore to anyone. I dont need anyone to write me back and tell me how dumb I was and I need to READ carefully. They got me, live and learn.
